Donald and Melania Trump each promote a new book — separately
Both former President Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump announced Thursday that they would be publishing new books — separately from each other, promoted by different publishing houses.
The former first lady announced she will be releasing her first memoir this fall, which will tell the “powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence.”
The book, which was announced in a press release from her official office and made available for preorder on her website, has no official release date yet.
The former first lady has kept a low profile since leaving the White House and is seldom seen at public events. She made her first major public appearance last week at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, although she did not have a speaking role like she did in 2016 and 2020.
Melania Trump, according to people close to her, was “shaken” by the recent assassination attempt on her husband and she has been preparing to send her son, Barron, off to college this fall. Since leaving the White House she has continued work on her BE BEST program by “securing scholarships for children in the foster care community.” But she has mostly remained out of the public eye.
The memoir, which is being published by Skyhorse Publishing, retails for $40. A signed edition is listed for $75, and a special 304 page collector’s edition is available for $150, with 48 pages of “never before seen” photographs. The collector’s edition also includes a “digital collectible, which will be minted on the Solana blockchain.” Among the business ventures the former first lady has been involved in is a collection of non-fungible tokens which she has sold on her website. She has also sold jewelry and Christmas ornaments.
According to the release, “the former First Lady invites readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life. Melania includes personal stories and family photos she has never before shared with the public.”
While the former first lady has been the subject of a number of books by journalists and former aides, she has not written a book of her own. Donald Trump has released two books since leaving office, a book of letters and a photo book, through Winning Team Publishing.
On Thursday morning, the former president also shared some book news. He will be releasing a third book, “Save America,” with photos from his time in office and the 2024 campaign along with his commentary that the publisher promises to “provide insight into what will shape his next four years in office.” A signed edition of Trump’s book is being sold for $499 — and the cover of the book features a photo of Trump pumping his fist after the assassination attempt.
